Huge congratulations to the Class of 2026! With today’s GCSE results now released, we’re proud to be celebrating another year of strong academic achievement.

Thanks to the dedication of our students, staff and supportive families, WSSC has delivered exceptional results across every subject area.Ìý

We achieved an outstanding overall Attainment 8 score of 48.7, alongside exceptional performance across core EBacc disciplines.

In English and Mathematics, 72.2% of students secured a Grade 4 or above in both subjects, underpinned by a dominant 80.1% pass rate of Grade 4+ in Mathematics.

Science was particularly strong this year, leading the way across ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Partnership Trust with 81% of students achieving a Grade 4 or above.Ìý

Mrs Tipper, Associate Headteacher at ÖªÒõÊÓƵ, said: “Today is a celebration of the sustained excellence and academic ambition that defines ÖªÒõÊÓƵ. These outstanding results are a testament to the hard work of our talented students, the unwavering expertise of our staff, and the strong partnership we share with our parents and community. Setting such a high benchmark year after year proves what can be accomplished when high expectations are matched with top-tier support.”

We are so proud of every single student collecting their results today. Their hard work and commitment to their education continue to set the benchmark across our school, Trust and region.

We’re looking forward to welcoming many of them back in September as they continue their journey with us at ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Sixth Form.

ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Sixth Form Celebrate Outstanding A-Level and Vocational Results /2026/08/13/wickersley-sixth-form-celebrate-outstanding-a-level-and-vocational-results/ Thu, 13 Aug 2026 10:32:15 +0000 /?p=19501

We are thrilled to celebrate the 2026 A-Level and Applied General examination results at ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Sixth Form, with students achieving another year of strong academic performance and continued improvement across a range of key measures.

This year’s results come from our largest cohort in recent years, with 158 students, and reflect the hard work, commitment and determination of our students, alongside the dedication of our staff.

Strong performance across the board

Our students have achieved excellent results across both A-Level and Applied General qualifications, with several key measures continuing to strengthen:

  • Academic Average Point Score: 37.35, exceeding the national benchmark of 36.09
  • Applied General Average Point Score: 33.26, maintaining an average grade of Distinction- for the fourth consecutive year
  • A-C Grade Rate: 83.15%, 5.45 percentage points above the national average
  • A*-A Top Grades: 27.21%, increasing from 24.46% in 2025
  • Overall Pass Rate: 99.35%, compared with 97.40% nationally.

These results represent another important step in the continued upward trajectory of ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Sixth Form.

Celebrating exceptional achievements

We are particularly proud to celebrate a number of exceptional individual performances.

  • Amogh achieved an outstanding 4 A*s in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths.
  • Renee achieved 3 A*s and 1 A in Biology, Physics, Maths and Further Maths.
  • Sethuni, Luke and Charlotte all achieved an impressive 3 A*s.
  • Connor, Jacob and Zara each achieved 2 A*s and 1 A.

These are just some of the exceptional achievements from this year’s cohort, with many more students achieving results that reflect their individual goals and ambitions.

Looking ahead to the next step

For many of our students, today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Students have secured places at their chosen universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, as well as higher apprenticeships, professional entry routes and other destinations.

Across the curriculum, our students have achieved excellent results. In STEM subjects, 100% of Further Maths students achieved A-B*, while 100% of Chemistry students achieved A-C*. Our vocational provision has also delivered strong outcomes, with 100% of students studying CTEC Sport Double achieving the equivalent of A-B*.

Whatever their next step, we are incredibly proud of the destinations our students have secured and the opportunities that now lie ahead of them.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Today is a celebration of the hard work and determination of our students. We would also like to thank the staff who have supported them throughout their Sixth Form journey, as well as parents and carers for their continued encouragement.

Congratulations to the ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Sixth Form Class of 2026. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and wish you every success for the future.

This month, we proudly hosted our Annual End of Year Awards Assemblies, celebrating the incredible achievements of students across ÖªÒõÊÓƵ School.

These assemblies are designed to recognise and reward students for their academic success, personal development, and positive contributions to school life over the past year. From subject excellence to values-based achievements, the awards reflect a wide range of accomplishments that highlight what it means to live by The ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Way.

Awards were presented across a variety of categories, including:

  •    Individual Subject Awards
  •    Excellent Attendance
  •    Embodying The ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Way
  •    Outstanding Effort

Ìý

The event was uplifting and inspiring, giving us all the opportunity to reflect on just how much our students have grown this academic year – both in and out of the classroom.

As part of ÖªÒõÊÓƵ Partnership Trust, we believe that a culture of praise and reward promotes excellence in all aspects of school life. Whether it’s academic achievement, the development of effective learning characteristics, or positive personal qualities, we know that recognition plays a key role in helping students become confident, capable and well-rounded citizens.

This event perfectly embodied that ethos. A huge well done to all of our award winners – your effort, resilience, and commitment have truly set the standard for others to follow. We’re incredibly proud of each and every one of you and can’t wait to see all that you will go on to achieve next year.

Ms Stacey joined ÖªÒõÊÓƵ 22 years ago, back in September 2004, and has become one of those valued members of staff who has been at the heart of our school community for many years.

Throughout her career, she has always put students first, going above and beyond to support the young people in her care. She has worked with some of our most vulnerable and challenging students, playing a significant role in helping many of them successfully complete their school journey and reach positive outcomes.

Over the past two decades, she has made a lasting impact on countless students, colleagues and families through her unwavering dedication, compassion and commitment to helping others.

As Ms Stacey begins her well-earned retirement, we hope she enjoys many happy years travelling and spending quality time with her family.

Thank you for everything you have done for our students, staff and families. Your kindness, dedication and support have made a real difference, and you will be greatly missed.
